About me

I graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2021. While earning my degree, I held various positions at The Daily Texan ranging from campus beat reporter to news editor. During this time, I developed leadership skills and applied the journalism I learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios. I also completed internships with KVUE, University Interscholastic League and an Austin-based digital marketing agency, Glass Staircase, where I added social media management and graphic design to my skill set.

As a social media specialist at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas, I do much more than post on the business school’s social channels. I also double as the in-house photographer and videographer for events, lead a team of student brand ambassadors, write content for the print magazine, and set up digital marketing campaigns on Facebook, Google and Linkedin.

In my free time, I also film and edit videos for my personal healthy cooking TikTok account, @nutritiouslynikki. Here, I have an outlet for my two passions: cooking and social media. Since April 2021, I have gained over 144 thousand followers and 2.3 million likes and have learned how to build and maintain a large following.  

Although I left the journalism field, my background in the newsroom continues to drive my work style. I thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment and make a concerted effort to keep up with current events and social media trends.
